A Warthogs Journey

A good friend drives a small red car. One day, her car had an unwitnessed argument with another in the parking lot, causing damage to the rear bumper. This is her story, and we are sticking to it! Our friend has a love (I won’t call it a fetish) for warthogs, and thus begins our journey.

As it came about, we were asked whether we could help to cover the damaged area of the bumper with a sticker; naturally, the request was for a warthog- indeed, three warthogs in procession, to emphasise a point.
“No job is too small” being our mantra, we bravely agreed to attempt the task, and set about having our graphics artists design the hogs, warts and all.
On the appointed day, the red car pulled into our driveway, and we got to view the damage for the first time. It quickly became apparent that the damage had cracked and spread, and the area was too large for our sticker to cover.
We would need to adjust the master plan.

First, we set about repairing and flattening the damaged and cracked area as best we could, and selected one of the three warthogs to make a much bigger sticker. This just about covered the damage, and we applied it to the prepared area.
Looking at it in retrospect, and using our best 40/40 hindsight, we decided that it looked very lonely, and the solitary warthog was clearly missing his mates.

So we then took the original sticker and applied that to the other (undamaged) end of the bumper, and we have to say it looked a lot better once we gave that solitary warthog some company.
The warthog now continues on it’s journey day after day as the little red car travels jauntily through the city, giving joy and hope to all who follow. Whether sunshine or rain, nice people smile and wave as they pass the bright red little car.
